Former CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill didn't hold back when calling out Piers Morgan for encouraging a white guest on his show to say the N-word.
Hill appeared on Tuesday's (May 6) episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored for a panel discussion with the host, Myron Gaines, and Lilly Gaddis, who admitted that she uses the N-word "quite frequently."
After Gaddis expressed her desire to live in a society where people can speak freely, Morgan encouraged the panelist to say the racial slur.
“Well, go on then, say it," Morgan told Gaddis. "Go on. Go on. Say the N-word."
Hill quickly shut down Morgan's suggestion, saying the host was inviting "racial harm" into the panel discussion for ratings.
“No, no, no, no! I don’t want you to invite this woman to say a racially harmful term in front of me, because I’m the only ni**a on here. So if she says it, I’m the victim of it,” Hill said. “Please don’t invite her for ratings to call me the N-word because that’s basically what it’s going to be.”
“There’s a bunch of white people up here and one Uncle Tom on the left here,” he continued, referring to Gaines. “You would not sit here with a Jewish person and say, ‘Please use a Jewish slur in front of this Jew.’ It’s ridiculous."
"I understand you don’t have any bad intent, Piers. I understand what you’re trying to do. But we already know she’s a racist and I don’t want to invite racial harm to me to prove it," Hill concluded.
Morgan backed down from his dare after Hill's remarks, saying, “I hear you and I accept that and we’ll leave it there. Thank you all very much.”
The former CNN contributor took to social media to address the heated exchange on Morgan's show.
"We must never allow disrespect from anyone, but especially out open enemies. And we must always affirm our dignity self-worth," Hill wrote in his post.
