The U.S. has no shortage of ways to prove why it earned the nickname "America the Beautiful." Just take a look around! There are countless monuments, natural landmarks, bustling cities and hidden alcoves waiting to be explored, some near some far but all absolutely worth visiting at least once to experience for yourself.
House Beautiful compiled a list of 35 of the "most beautiful places" in the U.S., highlighting stunning locales both big and small in various cities around the country. While the list features iconic destinations like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Trinity Church in Boston and the entirety of New York City and Chicago, two spots in Georgia got a shoutout.
According to the site, Forsyth Park in Savannah and Piedmont Park in Atlanta rank No. 15 and 27, respectively, among the most gorgeous places in America. Here's what House Beautiful had to say about these breathtaking destinations:
Forsyth Park
"Savannah's historic area is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S., especially as it's along the river, but this stunning park is the oldest and largest in the city, spanning 30 acres. As you spend your time strolling through Forsyth Park, you'll come across dramatic Spanish moss hanging off the trees, a fragrant garden designed specifically for the blind, and, of course, the famous fountain, which was installed in 1858 and has become the city's best-known landmark."
Piedmont Park
"Sprawling and serene, Piedmont Park is an iconic staple in metro Atlanta. At 185 acres, it takes a lot to keep this park beautiful, but the Conservancy behind keeps everything impeccably landscaped. Within the park, you'll find a gorgeous view of the skyline, dog parks, athletic fields, a pool, and plenty of spaces to gather with friends."
