A Cincinnati foster mother was killed along with two of her adopted children before the suspect died of "apparent self-inflicted stab wounds," per PEOPLE.
On Thursday (October 24), 78-year-old Patricia McCollum, DJ McCollum, 32, and Kaydence McCollum, 11, were found dead with stab wounds at a home on Springbrook Drive.
Anthony Mathis, 66, who was identified as the suspected killer, was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. It's unclear what Mathis' relationship was to the victim. According to reports, Mathis was charged in April 2023 with strangulation and domestic violence. Patricia McCollum was identified as the victim.
According to court documents, the domestic violence charge was eventually “dismissed for want of prosecution."
A GoFundMe campaign was started in support of the victims. Patricia was remembered as a "hero" who left a "legacy of love."
