Tennis star Serena Williams has made another record-breaking achievement.

On Sunday (May 22), Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldins announced that Williams' 2003 NetPro rookie card sold for a whopping $266,400. According to Goldins, the purchase set a new record for the "highest-priced trading card of a female athlete."

Sold on Saturday night (May 21), the price tag of Williams' 2003 NetPro card more than doubled the previous record set, The Athletic reports.

Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, shut down any speculation that he purchased the trading card.

"This is her best card. I've got the other PSA 8 AUTO 10 in my @OnlyAltOfficial vault--this was someone else--Still massively undervalued IMO," Ohanian tweeted.

The tennis pro made her rookie debut in 1995, but 2003 marked the first year NetPro tennis cards were released after a decade-long hiatus.

Williams also held the previous record for a women's trading card after her July 1999 SI For Kids card sold for $117,000 this past January. Before Williams, Mia Hamm held the title for highest-priced women's trading card for her August 1992 SI For Kids card, which sold for $34,440 in 2021.

According to reports, the record-breaking $266,400 rookie card received a grade of PSA 8/Auto 10 and included apparel Williams wore during the match.
