Tracy Morgan Issues Apology After Mispronouncing 'Soul' At Golden Globes

Tracy Morgan went viral during the 2021 Golden Globes on Sunday (February 28).

While presenting the award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture and Best Original Score, the 30 Rock star accidentally pronounced “Soul” as “Sal,” and let's just say, it was the highlight of the show for some.

Before Tracy could fix his mistake — he appeared to realize his flub almost immediately — the cameras went to the winners' speech before he could correct himself. And while social media usually gets the first laugh, this time it was Don Cheadle, who got in the first joke over the 30 Rock star's innocent mistake.

“Did ‘Soul’ also win, or just ‘Sal’?" Don was heard saying to fellow actors Eugene Levy, Nicholas Hoult, Jason Sudeikis and Ramy Youssef, who were also laughing over Tracy's flub via zoom.

Shortly after his hilarious on-camera mistake, Tracy took to Twitter to apologize. "Sorry SOUL," he wrote. "I was thinking about the pizza I was going to get from my guy SAL on the way home!!"
