>>Wastewater Monitoring For COVID-19 To Continue In Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Officials with the City of Harrisburg say they will continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 through wastewater. Mayor Eric Papenfuse said last week that testing will continue until the end of the pandemic. He added that levels were higher in May, June, and early July, but since then testing numbers have begun to drop.

>>In-Person Classes Resume Today In Carlisle

(Carlisle, PA) -- In-person classes are set to resume today in the Carlisle Area School District after a COVID-19 shut down last week. There were reported cases at River Rock Academy, Lamberton Middle School, and Wilson Middle School as well as two presumed cases that prompted the district to hold classes virtually. Students who are set to be in the classroom today based on their hybrid model schedule can return to class.

>>Carlisle Man Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship With Teen

(Carlisle, PA) -- Investigators are charging a Carlisle man with the sexual assault of a then-14-year-old girl. Dustin Morell was allegedly having a relationship with the teen dating back to 2017. The 26-year-old faces statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and other charges.

>>Police Looking For Man Who Tried To Enter Lower Paxton Township Daycare

(Lower Paxton Twp., PA) -- Police in Lower Paxton Township say an unknown man tried to enter a daycare center last week. The man attempted to get inside the building on the 1,400 block of Parkway West on Wednesday afternoon to no avail. Anyone who may recognize the man from a surveillance photo is asked to contact Lower Paxton Township police.

>>Police Looking For Suspects Behind Multiple Car Fires In New Freedom

(New Freedom, PA) -- Investigators are still looking for whoever is behind a series of car fires in New Freedom, York County dating back to 2019. There have been at least five reports of cars damaged by fire, with the most recent coming last Thursday near South Charges and Bond streets. It’s believed the vehicles were found unlocked, with whoever’s responsible going through it for valuables before starting the fire.

>>Police Looking For Missing Chambersburg Woman

(Chambersburg, PA) -- Police in Franklin County are searching for a missing woman. Kathiana Robert was last seen Saturday night on the 300-block of Channing Drive in Chambersburg. Anyone who may have information her whereabouts is asked to contact Chambersburg police.

>>Officials: Reading Has 100-Percent Census Response Rate

(Reading, PA) -- Reading officials say the city has a 100-percent response rate for the 2020 Census. The announcement came at the end of last week, following a caravan that took the mayor along with other leaders and workers to people's doors to raise awareness about the once-a-decade count. City officials say 56-percent of households submitted the census on their own, and the remaining 44-percent were reached by door knocks.

>>Two Injured In Shooting At Lancaster County Airbnb House Party

(West Lampeter Township, PA) -- Police are investigating after a shooting at a party at a Lancaster County Airbnb rental. The shooting happened in the 14-hundred-block of Old Lampeter Road early yesterday morning. Two men were injured in the shooting and were treated at different hospitals. A male teen was arrested near the property for possessing a firearm without a license.

>>Berks Warns Of Phone Scam

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County officials are warning about a phone scam that uses a county number. The county believes the scammer is spoofing one of its numbers. The scammer calls and makes false claims that a relative is in jail and needs bail money paid. Officials urge those receiving suspicious calls to contact county detectives.

>>Parade To Celebrate Night Out, Fire Prevention Week

(Muhlenberg Township, PA) -- Muhlenberg Township is planning to hold a safety vehicle parade. Three separate parades will be held October 6th in honor of National Night Out and Fire Prevention Week. The parades will each include at least one fire truck, a police car, and other vehicles. Either McGruff, Sparky, or both are planning to participate.

>>Middle School Art Teacher Using Reading Museum As Virtual Classroom

(Reading, PA) -- An East Penn School District teacher is using the Reading Public Museum as a virtual classroom. Lower Macungie Middle School art teacher Heather West used the museum as her teaching tool for her most recent Where's West Wednesdays lesson. West used her laptop to walk the students around the museum, showing them pieces and exhibits. West says she's using the idea to try to bring something engaging to her students while they're at home.

(Williamsport, PA) -- Former Republican Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge is endorsing democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The former governor says It's time to put country over party, it's time to dismiss Donald Trump. He emphasized that Biden has the experience and empathy to help Americans navigate the pandemic, social injustice, income inequality and immigration reform. This will be Ridge's first time ever voting Democrat for the U.S. presidential election. 

>>Two Test Positive for COVID at Penn Manor School District

(Millersville, PA) -- Two people at Penn Manor High School are in isolation after contracting COVID-19. The school district says that those people are staying out of the school until they are fully recovered. Contact tracers have been interviewing anyone who has been near the individuals. School officials are reminding parents to keep their kids at home if they feel sick. A full deep cleaning and sanitizing of the school building has taken place. 

>>Wolf Encourages Pennsylvanians to Download COVID App

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is encouraging everyone to download the new COVID Alert PA app. You can use your phone to help fight the spread of COVID-19. It will notify you if you've been near someone who has tested positive for the virus. He says that the app is free, voluntary, and anonymous.
